Birthday, Sick, Final Performances, and Home for the Time Being.

Hey guys!

Very long time since I last blogged. I know. But a heck of a lot has been happening since I last posted. So, I'm planning to do a very big post today to make up for all the lost time. So, in the words of Julie Andrews, "Let's start at the very beginning."

First off, I'm now 21!!! It was an amazing day. I first met up with Caleb in the hallway of our dorm and we decided to go out for breakfast at IHOP. But when we got there, it was so packed! The line was making it's way out the door and even a little down the street. It turned out that my birthday happened to be the exact same day as International Pancake Day. Not wanting to wait a long time to eat, because we were going to meet Alli at noon to go shopping, we decided to try to find another place to eat at. Walking around, we happened to come across a KFC joint. So, we decided to eat there. I know fried chicken isn't really breakfast food, but we were hungry, and neither of us had eaten there in a very long time. Though I couldn't help but think to myself, "Chicken for breakfast, how very Texan of me."

After we've finished, we went to Forever 21 to meet with Alli, and our shopping spree began. We went to several different stores, including Forever 21, Victoria's Secret, American Apparel, and the very big Macy's store on 34th street. Once at Macy's, we met up with Danielle, who had just finished work for the day. We hung our for a bit before heading over to Red Lobster for dinner. After a little trouble getting a table, we finally got in and I ordered my first drink. It was wonderful. :) But I was tipsy after one drink, so that's all I got. The entire subway ride home, I was smiling. Whether that's from the alcohol, or the fact that I had the best birthday of my life, I don't know. Either way, thank you Caleb, Alli, Danielle, Ally, and Samm for giving me a wonderful birthday! <3

In March, I got to go home for a couple of days of my spring break. It felt nice to see the family again and to just relax a little before final presentations. But the best part of that week, however, was when I got back. Alli and I got to hang out and go shopping for a day. And then we went to see Alan Rickman (Snape from the Harry Potter saga) in the Broadway show, Seminar, thanks to my mom who gave us the tickets for my birthday. It was so cool to see Alan Rickman perform on stage. Very different from seeing him on the screen and I'm glad I got to share the experience with Alli. We were planning on doing a lot of touristy stuff for the rest of the week, but Alli got sick, so we had to cancel. But it's okay, because I know we'll be spending a lot of time together in LA. :)

For the rest of March and for most of April, it was all school and getting ready for end of year presentations for Acting for Film (The Fighter and Great White Hope), Meisner (Brooklyn Boy), Improvisation, and Scene Study (Cowboy Mouth).  But something horrible began to take place. On the day I got assigned to do Cowboy Mouth, I began to get sick! :( It was the first time I was sick in over a year. Once I was done with Scene Study, I went home early in hopes that this was only a 24hour bug that I had caught and that I could sleep it off. But apparently, there was a case of the flu that was spreading around the student body at NYFA, and I had gotten it. It was not good timing for me to be sick, what with my Meisner presentation two days away and my final film shoots the next week. Luckily, we didn't have classes on Friday, so I got the whole day to rest in bed.

On that Saturday, the day of the Meisner presentation, I had brought my fever down, but my voice was in a horrible condition. It sounded like I had been smoking my entire life! But, the show must go on, so I gargled hot salt water, ate french fries and lemons, drank lemon tea thanks to Temara, and was forbidden to talk until the performance. Thankfully, it went smoothly. Jimmy was amazing to work with, and people said they could hardly tell that my voice had been shot. On the subway ride home, I finally started speaking again, and Caleb and I joked on how I sounded like the Wicked Witch of the West. When I got back to the dorms, I began to feel my fever coming back, so I went to bed.

Sick as a dog, but still willing to press on!!

The day after Meisner, I knew that I had to rest and not talk as much as I could before shooting The Fighter the next day. But I was missing a piece of my costume, so I had to go to Forever 21 to get it. But it was a quick trip and I quickly got in bed again to rest.

The next day, fever was gone, but my voice was still scratchy and hoarse. I knew it was far too late to reschedule or anything, so brought lots of water with me as Brad, my partner, and I made our way to New Jersey for a 10am shoot. When Cedric got there, one of the first things he noticed was my voice and quickly made me gargle salt water again. Besides my voice, the shoot was amazing! Brad was wonderful to work with and the bad throat kinda added to my character. We weren't aloud to see the footage, but I managed to steal a couple of glances at some of the shots. They looked really good. We finished and started to head home around 5pm. I was feeling good. Even my throat was beginning to feel better. I went home, not wanting to rest but knowing that I wanted to be in the best shape for Wednesday, my shoot for Great White Hope. So I went to bed early.

However, the very next morning, my fever came back with a vengeance. For the first four hours of that day, all I could do was lay in bed in complete agony. I didn't have very much food in my fridge, or at least food that I could eat without the fear of throwing up, so I didn't eat anything. Which turned out to be a very bad idea. That afternoon, my mom called and she helped me order food from a deli that happened to deliver. Thirty minutes later, they called to say that my food had arrived and was waiting for me downstairs. I got out of bed to go get it, but when I did, I felt like I was going to be sick. I managed to make my way to the elevators and one opened for me. Three women were already inside. Once the elevator made it to the lobby, my vision started to go out and at the moment, I knew I was in trouble. One of the women asked if I was alright, to which I replied that I wasn't. They quickly moved me out of the elevator and sat me down on the floor. Just as they called for EHS people for help, I vomited all over the floor. They quickly decided to call for EMS to come, but I told them I was okay, and I was at the moment. Whatever was in there, and there wasn't much to begin with, it was out of me and I was fine. The EHS people moved me out to different room and out of the mess on the floor. One of the people signed for my food and I dug into the bread and salad. It tasted delicious. Since the EMS people were taking so long to get there, one of the EHS people walked me back to my room where I quickly fell asleep.

About an hour and a half later, I heard a knocking at my door. I got dressed in something decent and answered the door, thinking it was EHS people wanting to check up on me. But to my surprise and delight, it was not EHS who was standing before me, it was Caleb. He asked me how I was doing and I told him about the incident with the lobby, to which he said, "You mean that was YOU!?" Apparently, he had come down two minutes after they moved me and saw what I had left behind. But it was good to see him again and we talked for a bit before I decided to sleep and rest up for the next day. Once again, I have to thank Caleb again for making me smile that day. :)

On the day of the shoot, not only was my fever gone, but so was my sore throat. The only evidence I had to prove that I was sick was a constant cough that ended up lasting another week. At about 8am, I headed out with Frank, my other partner, to lower Manhattan to shoot Great White Hope at a small boxing gym. The shoot went wonderfully. Frank did an awesome job and I managed to hold in my coughs during the takes. In between takes, Cedric gave me his jacket so I could keep warm and not get sick again. Luckily, I didn't have any classes the next day so I could take it to rest and not relapse.

On that Friday, I was up and ready to go and work on our next presentation: improvisation. We decided that we wanted to mainly work with scene work and make it like an actual improv show and not just do games. On the day of the performance, we were all sort of nervous. But to everyone's surprise, it went really well and everyone seemed to have a good time.

After the Improv show

For some reason, we had a few Acting for Film classes left after we shot our final scenes. For the first two, we had a lot of improv games that was really fun, and we talked about music choices for our scenes. Then, we decided to go out to brunch and check out Battery Park on our final class. There was a beautiful green field where Steph and Caleb did some tumbling with the rest of us watching. I have to say, that was one of my favorite classes. But at the same time, it was a little sad because that day, for me at least, it began to dawn on us that we were nearing the end of our school year. Some of us would be going to LA for their second year, some would be staying in New York and beginning to work. We took pictures to remember that day before we headed back to our next class.

But we couldn't focus on the sad stuff, because we had one more presentation to do before the end of the year... SCENE STUDY!! The scene I had for that class was most likely one of, if not the hardest scene that Frank and I had to tackle. The language was tricky as well as the subtext. And for me, it was incredibly physical as well. I got to climb up on to the seats and just stare the audience in the eye. Paul worked us to the bone all the way up until the performance day. And I have to say, it was one of the greatest showcases I've ever been in. Everybody was on their A game and I couldn't have asked for better group of people to work with. At the end, I began to cry because it hit me again that I wouldn't be working with this same group of people again for a long time. But I just reminded myself again of all the good times that the twelve of us shared which made me feel a little better.

The next day was our very last day of classes before our graduation. It was very emotional day for everyone. We all got into a circle and one person would get in the middle and everyone would take turns saying something that they admire about that person or a fond memory that they had together. Everyone had something nice to say, and it felt good. Even though everyone was in tears and congested from all the crying by the end of the day. This exercise bled over into our last improv class. And then we watched the improv show we did and commented on how we thought we did.

The very next day was Graduation. I was excited because this would be the first time that any of us got to see our final films. I was busy spending the morning trying to pick out the perfect outfit to wear. It was about 11am when I get wonderful surprise from my mother. It turns out the night before, she had bought a plane ticket to come up to New York and see my graduation!! I'm really glad that she was able to make it. We got to go out to dinner at The Barking Dog before heading over to Union Square. It was the same restaurant we went to when I first moved to New York, so it only seemed fitting to go there. Before the actual ceremony, we all got to mingle with each other, I got to introduce mom to everyone. It was a great Graduation!! All the scenes turned out beautifully, even the one where my voice was terrible. Afterwards, we all went to Jay's house in Jersey for an after grad party. Best party ever!!

When I got back to the dorms that next day, Mom and I decided that it was time to pack up my room. We spent most of the day deciding what comes with me or her on the plane and what would be shipped in boxes. I'm glad my mom was there to help. I don't know know what I would have done by myself. After a couple of hours, I thought it would be cool to take mom out for dinner then a walk in Central Park. We found this cute little Italian restaurant that I had no idea was there. The dinner itself wasn't that great, but the appetizers were delicious. :) After that,  we went and walked around Central Park for a bit. Mom couldn't help but take a few pictures.

Then we made our way back to her hotel where I went to bed at 8:30. I was still tired from Jay's party.

After having breakfast with mom and dropping her off at the airport, I was off to the Drama Bookshop to meet with Alli. After cruising around there for bit, I met up with Caleb and his family, who had also came up for graduation. We all went out to Shake Shack for burgers and to just hang out. Later, we said our goodbyes to Caleb as he left for the airport to Florida.

On the day before I left NY, I decided to go see Peter and the Star Catchers. I heard wonderful things about it and I had to see it before I left. Since Peter Pan was my first show I was in, I felt it was fitting that I go see the prequel to the show that started it all. Oh my god, it was truly amazing! One of the best plays that I had seen in New York. And the seats were wonderful. I was a little off to the side, but I was in the front row. I could actually touch the stage from where I was sitting!! What a great way for me to end my NYC adventure!

Now that I'm home, I have to begin the new adventure of finding a job. :( But once I get it, I'll be making the money I'll need for LA. I'm really looking forward to going there to finish my last year of school and begin my new life as an actress. Looking back now, I'm amazed at the journey I've already been on, from starting as Lost Boy in Peter Pan at the DMTC theater in Davis Callifornia, to where I am now.

So, as I'm closing this wonderful chapter of my life, I'm ready to turn the page a begin a whole new adventure. :)

See you there! <3

Busy Bee

Hey everyone!!

I know, it's been a very long time since I last blogged. But my life has been a gigantic roller coaster for the past few weeks. Thankfully, there have been more ups than downs. But seriously, there has been a lot going on.

Lets start with the downs and get them out of the way. Trenton and I broke up. :( After seven months of being with him, skypeing, phone calls, spending most of my breaks with him instead of my own family, he said he couldn't take the long distance anymore and ended our relationship. Well, he said he wanted a break, but we all know that that's just code for wanting out of a relationship. And what's really funny is that four hours prior to the break up, I told a friend of mine that I really loved him and that he was the guy for me. But then, at midnight on February 1st, it was all over. But my roommate was there with me and she helped me out during the breakup. I called my mother and she was very supportive and talked with me for about an hour. It really helped me get through the night.

The next day at school, my friends had just heard about it from facebook, (he changed his relationship status before I did that morning. :P) and they were very nice to me about it. My friend Alli and I went out to whole foods after class and had a nice lunch. Then we went shopping in a couple stores in Times Square, including the candy land part of the big Toys 'R Us store. It was really fun! Nothing makes you feel better then shopping after a break up!! :D My friends are seriously the most awesome people ever and I'm glad that I had them with me. So thanks again to Danielle, Dee, Ally, Alli, and Caleb for making a bad day good again.

A few weeks later, on February 13th I was looking facebook and saw that Trenton just got into a new relationship just in time for Valentine's Day. I felt like I should have been more upset about it than I was. But when I saw it, I just glanced at it for a moment before moving on. I guess that's a good sign that I'm doing okay. :D

Ok, now lets move on to something happy.

One of the main reasons, besides school work, that I wasn't able to write is that I got into the Winter/Spring ensemble group at school. For those who don't know what that is, it's when the actors in the film acting groups get to audition for four one act plays. Me and three other people from my section got into one. I was in the show "Pillow Talk" directed by Peter Stone. It's about a couple who goes to seek marital counseling and it goes horribly wrong. I got to play one of the counselors, Tiffany Heaven.

This play is the first where I had to do physical comedy and even a little bit of stage combat. For those who know me, you know that I lean more towards dramatic shows and scenes. So I was a little out of my element on this one. But this show was really fun to do and turned out really well. :)

Plus, my Dad flew up from Austin to come and see the show! It was his first time in New York, and I was very excited to see him. We got to skating at the Rockefeller Center after the show. It felt really good to be skating after years of not having a decent ice rink. I'll have to go again before they close for the season.

The next day, we got up early to go out for breakfast at a nice little restaurant on 94th street. Then we decided to take a cab and go up to the empire state building. The view was incredible! It's something I will never forget!

Then, as the cherry on our little tourist adventure, we walked a little ways up the Brooklyn Bridge. It was amazing! And I'm so glad that I got to share it with my dad.

But, all good things must come to end, and he left for home later that day. Sure it's sad that I had to say goodbye so soon, but I get to see him and my mom and sister when I come down there for spring break! :D

I can't wait to move to LA. Don't get me wrong, I love NY and I always will. But I don't love this cold weather. At first it was refreshing after the the record heat of Texas, triple digits for three weeks straight. But now, I really just want to be in the heat. Plus, all the cute clothes are for Spring/Summer seasons. Sure there are some cute Fall/Winter looks, but they have cuter looks for warmer weather.

It also looks like I found someone who will be my roommate when I go to LA!! Her name is Sam, and she's from Boston. She's really nice and a little crazy, which is a good thing. We're still looking at places that we can live in that's cheap and close by to save money on gas. There is one that two of my friends are looking at that's about five minutes away. It's leaning towards the top of what I want to pay for rent, but since it's really close, I might just do it. Plus I might be able to carpool with Sam and my other friends that way it'll be easier on all of our cars and gas bills. But we'll see what happens.

One more thing before I go, I'm turning 21 one in only NINE MORE DAYS!! I'm so excited! I can finally buy my own wine!! I have the whole day off from school so me and a couple of my friends are planning to hang out and drink in the evening. But I might have to end the party around midnight because most of us have class the next day. I'll still go, but I'm going to have a massive hangover. Hopefully, nothing bad will happen to us like in the movie. ;)

Well that's all for now. I'll try to update at least once a week!

Until then, catch you later! <3

New Classes, Bubba Gump, and the Golden Globes

Hey everybody!

Monologue presentations are over!! It was a whole lot of fun and sections C, G, and H rocked the house!!! But with the end of the monologue presentation, we also have to end the first semester of school. :( It's still hard to believe that it's half way over and I've been in NY for about half a year. But I get new teachers and some new classes starting the 17th. My two new classes for this quarter are scene study, and combat for film. Combat for film is going to be fun! I've always been interested in it and I've been taught a few tricks. But it'll be really good to have about 8 weeks to really learn it. Scene study will be very interesting as well. I have my teacher from Acting for Film last semester teaching that class. Which means a lot of work books. But I like doing work, so it's no problem for me.

I went to Bubba Gump for the first time last night with my friends Caleb and Alli. It's pretty cool. It's a restaurant that's based on the movie Forest Gump. It was only a 15 minute wait to get our table, but it felt much longer because we were near the front door and the cold air was constantly blowing in. But once we were in we got our table, all was well. After we ordered our food, the waiter came back and quizzed us on the movie. And we got a lot of the questions right!! :D And our big prize that we won were three mints for after dinner!!! ............................. Yeah, very anti climatic. But it was still very fun. The food there is a little pricy, but what in New York is not. All in all, it was a very good experience.

When I got home, I turned on the TV to find that the Golden Globes were on! I had totally for gotten about them!! Sure they aren't as glamorous as the Tony or Oscar awards, but I still like watching it. Plus, I believe it's the only time that you can see television shows and movies get awards in the same night. There were a lot of good movies that were in the running for the gold. One of the ones I liked, Midnight in Paris, got best screenplay. I remember watching this movie after a shift at the movie theatre and falling in love with it. The writing was so beautiful and it was a joy to watch from start to end. One of my favorite TV shows was nominated that night as well. It didn't win best drama series, but Jessica Lange won the award for best supporting actress for her stunning performance as Constance in American Horror Story. Constance is one of those characters that, for the most part, you like to hate.

Here's a link to one of my favorite scenes that she's in;

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ie90D4lZIN8

I hope she gets to stay on the show. What the writers are wanting to do is that every new season there is a new house and a new haunting. I kind of like this idea. It keeps it fresh. But that also means saying goodbye to a lot of characters that I like. The writers are talking to some of the actors to stay on board for season 2, but they would be playing whole new people. I guess it could be quite challenging to make the audience see that you are now this character, and not the one he played last time. I'm looking forward to seeing how they do with that! :)

Well, that's all I have for now. I'll let you guys know how my new classes/teachers are.

Til next time, catch you later! <3

Work, School, and LA, here I come!

Hey everyone!

I know, it's been a long time. :P But I had a lot of stuff to do.

The main thing on my plate is school. Don't get me wrong, I love my school, and I love doing the work. There's just a lot of it and it currently is my first priority. I finished my Final scene for Acting for Film 1. The scene was from an un-produced script call "Rounder". The scene is set near the ending of the film. In the scene, Darrell asks his friend Tim and his girlfriend Jenn to meet him on the roof. When he goes up there, he shows them his baby nephew that he has in his bag. It being very cold, Tim and Jenn were not pleased. They were ready to leave, when Darrell suggested that they ransom him. Once again, Tim and Jenn are not happy with the idea. And on an impulse, Darrell throws the baby off the roof... I know, very grim. But it was a great scene to shoot. Caleb, who played Tim, and Jay, who played Darrell, were awesome to work with! :D

I've still got some more classes to do before the end of the semester; Acting technique, Meisner, and Shakespeare. My last class of Meisner is tomorrow, and I just ended my Voice and Movement class this morning. Voice and movement today was very interesting. My teacher, Peter, decided to try something different with the monologues that we are doing for our monologue presentation this Saturday. He wanted us to say our monologues, as if we were one of the four main elements; Earth, Air, Fire, and Water. Today, we worked all but water. Peter said he wanted to get us out of our usual way of doing it, so we won't always think that there is only one way to do it. The ones that really stood out for me were air and fire. When I did it as air, it almost sounded venomous, like I was going to kill the person I was talking to. And the monologue is actually talking about someone wanting a chance at a relationship with that person. Lol. Fire, on the other hand, had a completely different result from air. After the intense work that we had to do to get to fire, I felt this sense of anger as I was doing the monologue. It was draining, but incredibly fun. Peter told us the more we work with the elements, we can easily tap into it for any scene or monologue. He also told us that we have our own natural element that makes us who we are; for me, I have the movement of either water or air, but the personality of fire. I'm going to try to get a consultation with Peter, that way I can work more with this elemental way of acting.

Another thing I was busy with is the fact that I'm trying to find a job. So far, I've applied to two restaurants. But I haven't heard from them yet. I'll still keep applying, and hopefully someone will take pity on a poor acting student and give her a job. But in the meantime, I'll have to be careful about my budget... I might start having to wash my clothes in the shower to save on using the washing machines in the dorm... Sorry Dee!!

So, I have made a final decision about my second year at NYFA. I'm definitely going to go to Los Angeles! There just seems to be of learning and working opportunities for me over there. Plus, it'll be good to make some connections out there, and I'll be able to know how to work LA if I book a role. Don't worry, to all my NY friends, I'll be back. I'm still on the look out for a roommate. Give me a shout out if you are interested!!

Well, that's all I have for now. I'll let you know how the monologue presentation I have on Saturday goes!

Catch you later! <3

Long Boring Flight, The Show That Started it All, and A Brand New Year

Hey everybody!

Two days ago, I flew home. It wasn't the greatest experience of my life. On my first flight, I was by the exit door on the side of the plane. At first there was no problem with this. But then I realized, for safety purpose, they removed the dinner trays that are usually on the back of the seat in front of you and put it in the arm rest. I don't know about you guys, but I like to sleep on those things. And since I was in an aisle seat, I couldn't rest on the wall. So I had to lean forward and put my head on my lap. Not very comfortable. I would have used my kindle or my lap top to keep me occupied, but the flight was over two and a half hours long, and I had only a 30 minute delay before my next flight. So I decided that I would do all my writing and reading on the next flight.

However, on the next flight, I was up closer to the front, right behind the first class area. But there was another problem. One, no dinner tray in front of me again. And then, since I was in the front of the coach area, there was no seat in front of me to put my stuff. At first I thought, okay, I'll just have to make sure that it doesn't go flying. But then, a flight attendant came up to me and told me that my bag had to be put in the over hand bins, since I was in the front. Then, we quickly put it away, with both my lap top and my kindle, and everything else. Including my phone, so I couldn't even listen to my music. I know you're thinking that why couldn't I just get up and get it when the captain told us we can move around. Well, I would have. But they put my purse in the front class area. And I wasn't sure to how they would react if someone from coach came and opened one of their bins.

Later in the flight, the flight attendant came by and asked me what I wanted to drink I told him what I wanted and asked if I could have some pretzels or chips. I had only a slice of red velvet cake before I left my house in Texas. The man, however, told me that they didn't serve complimentary chips or peanuts, and they didn't have any pretzels. Now this was strange. On about every flight that I could remember being on, they would always have some kind of complimentary food. I guess not on US Airlines.

So, I don't know if my seat positions on these flights were bad, or if the Airlines themselves weren't that great, but I'm going to do my best to be on Southwest, or any different airlines the next time I fly.

But once I got home, I started getting ready to see the show that first made me want to start acting; Peter Pan. I left my room around 5:15 that afternoon. I'd never been to Madison Square Garden before, and I didn't want to be late. Once I found it, I got my ticket and rushed inside. I bought to souvenirs; a program, and a shirt that says "Never Grow Up". I told my mother about the shirt and she said that it was very fitting for me. :) I was pretty far from the stage when I got to my seat. But I didn't mind. I was just happy that I got to see the show. When the lights went down, it took everything in me not to start screaming.

It was a bit noisy in the crowd because a lot of children were there to see the show. But for some reason, it didn't really bother me. The only time I was bothered was when the guy next to me shushed the kids who where two rows in front of us. I don't know about you guys, but I think that shushing people is more disruptive then the people you're shushing. Also, if their not you're kids, you should leave it to the parents to quiet the children. I wanted so badly to turn to the guy and say, "I hope one day you have noisy children and people shush you. That you can feel embarrassed." I didn't say it, of course. But I REALLY wanted to.

Other than that, the show was amazing! What I really loved about this show was that it had elements of the book as well as the regular show. But I think my favorite part has to be in the beginning of act two the song Ugawug that the lost boys and indians sing/dance. It was incredible. I didn't cry as much as I thought I would. In fact the only time I cried was when the audience claps to save Tinkerbell. I kept thinking to myself, why are you crying? You know she's going to be alright! It was probably old memories seeping in.

Cathy Rigby played an amazing Peter. Don't get me wrong, I love the Mary Martin Peter, but she plays it like Peter is a very nice person. Plus, she was very tall and. Someone who looks like their 5'8 can't really pull off a six year old boy. But Cathy portrayed her Peter as if she was playing him from the book. In the book, Peter is very playful with a bit of a mean streak. Cathy certainly did the character justice, and almost had me forgetting that it was a woman playing Peter and not a boy.

All in all, the show and all the actors in it were truly stunning.

Yesterday, was the ever famous ball drop. I got up and ate my dinner very early so I wouldn't be hungry. I packed a bag of pretzels and a bottle of water that way I wouldn't be starving by midnight. I left my house around 2pm and arrived on 42nd street 30 minutes later. Even then, the police were putting up the barricades. I had to walk all the way to 49th street in order to find an opening for me to get in. I was so far in the back that I could barely see the monitor that showed what was happening on the stage. But I didn't really care. All I cared about was seeing the ball drop at midnight. I sat down every few minutes to give my aching back and legs a break, only getting up to do the count down of every hour before the ball actually dropped. When the ball dropped, I recorded the whole thing on my camera. It was a very good feeling that I felt at that moment. All my life, I had only watched the ball drop on the T.V.. But now, I got to see it live!! I'm not sure it's something I want to do again, unless I get a VIP pass or something. But, it was definitely a night that I will never forget.

And now, for my New Year's resolution! I'm going to give 150% in my career as an actress! I'm also going to make an effort to exercise every single day, that way I'll be nice and fit.

So, let's begin 2012 with a bang!!

Catch you later! <3

Heading North, Restaurants, and Rommate?

Hey everybody!

Well, today is my last day in Austin. It's a little sad because I most likely won't be coming back until summer time. But, I'll be going back to school and all will be well. At this moment, I'm trying to get as much laundry as I can done before 4pm -Trenton is taking me out to dinner for my last night. Back at the dorm, I have to pay to get my laundry cleaned. And I usually do it once a month, so it comes out to be around $20. YIKES!!! I either have to find some place that would do my laundry for a cheap price - good luck finding that in New York - or, and this might sound very weird, I might have to wash them myself. Dee, if you're reading this, I won't do it while I'm at the dorms. :D

I'm thinking about getting a job while I'm up in New York. Preferably at some big restaurant like Red Lobster, or Olive Garden or something. I would be willing to work as a hostess, but I think it'd get me more money if I was a waitress. It'll be hard. I'll have to make myself seem not as awkward as I know I can be. I'll think of it as acting training. :D Plus, I'll have to get my Alcohol Beverage Serving Card as well as a Food Handlers Card. The one's I had were for restaurants in Texas, and most likely have expired by now. But if I do get it, I'll be able to transfer to another restaurant for the summer. At least I hope I will be able to.

It's still a toss up on whether I should do my second year at NYFA in New York, or in LA. I feel that most likely it'll be LA. Which brings me to the last portion of my blog. If I do go to LA, I'll need to get a roommate. They don't have dorms at the LA campus and I personally don't like the dorms that much anymore. There is little to no privacy, and you can't really decorate the room, unless all you want is posters or things you pin up on your wall. Anyway, I'll be on the looking for any girls who are either going to LA, or are already living in LA and need a roommate for a year. If anyone is interested, please give me a little shout out and we'll talk.

Well, that all I can think of to write right now. I also have to check on the progress of my laundry and take a shower.

Til next time, catch you later! <3

A Proposal, an Honor, and Presents!

Hey guys.

It's Christmas day, and to most of us it means one thing; PRESENTS!!! This year seemed to take a little longer than last year. I think my dad was feeling that as well because he was constantly saying "Let's keep'em. Keep'em coming." And then my mother would yell back. "No! Let them take their time!!"

Some of things that I got this year are a magic bullet blender, a cool looking watch, some clothes, a new wallet, and more. I'll hopefully upload some pictures when I get the chance.

There are some firsts for this Christmas. Firstly, this was the first time when my PARENTS are waking me up for Christmas and I'M trying to sleep in... For some reason, this seems odd to me. Hahaha. I guess I was just really tired. I did stay out until 11:30pm playing Wii Sports with my boyfriend, Trenton.

Another one is that this was the first Christmas that my brother, Mike, was not there with us. He joined the Peace Corps and left this past August. Mike is currently in Nicaragua and will be there for two years. So I'll not only have one, but two Christmases without him. But he get's internet and was able to Skype with us this morning. We opened is presents for him and showed them to him through the video camera in the computer. I think mom was talking about wrapping them up again and giving them to Mike when he comes back.

Then another thing, which brings me to my second part of why I'm writing this blog, is that this is my sister and her boyfriend's first Christmas as an ENGAGED couple. Yep, you read right. My baby sister, Alyssa, is getting MARRIED!!!!! :O I heard about it when the night before Christmas Eve. I was shopping around Barnes and Noble for any last minutes stuff that I needed to get, when I get a call from my mother. She tells me that she had something to tell me. When I asked her what, she told me that Josh had proposed to her. And he went through hell to do it, because all the romantic places that he wanted to propose to her were either not open, or didn't seem all that romantic. Finally, as a last resort, the went to the restaurant where he had made reservations. He went in a head of her and told the hostess that he was going to "pop the question". She was very excited and they agreed to help out. When they brought out their food, Alyssa had a beef skewer, the ring was on the end and written on the plate was "Will you marry me?" Of course my sister said yes, and they are planning to have a spring wedding. I love my sister very much and I'm very happy for her. Mike is even coming back to the states to see the wedding. The ring is very pretty. When she showed to me, she turns to Trenton, and tells him "The pressure is on you now."

Yesterday, Alyssa, my Mom, and I were getting gas before going to the Christmas Eve Church service that she wanted to go to and the topic of the wedding came up. When she told me that it was probably going to happen in April or May, I asked if it could be on a weekend, that way I could come down from New York without missing too much school. She told me that I had to come whether I missed school or not. When I asked why, mom told me to cover my ears while she talked. I didn't know what all the secrecy was about. It could have been Christmas present stuff. After I uncovered my ears, Alyssa said "I don't know why we can't tell her." I had no idea what they were talking about and asked them. After mom gave the O.K. Alyssa turns to me and asks me to be her Maid of Honor. So, it looks like I'll might have to miss some school. Anything for my baby sister. :D

Whew. That's quite a bit. But that's all I have for now.

Catch you later! <3
